Is probably at the bottom of its depreciation curve.
Based on the one I saw today anyway.
Early pop up headlight car, with later wheels, plastidipped black, badly, with a bunch of brake dust. It had a taillight out, Rusty eBay exhaust hanging down, and purplish tint all bubbled up on the rear window.
It made me realize that a school kid with a decent part time job could probably get that car in about two years if he saved a lot.

Nope...still couldn’t afford one

considering they are going 30ish for a poor condition 91 model year, I doubt college kids could save that kind of money anytime soon

This was a poor-condition one for sure. White with black roof, with a good bit of soot on the rear bumper.

You missed the bottom (mid-2000s) they're on their way back up. You just happened to find a shitty one.

You know, I think you’re right. I saw them in 08-12 going for 18-20k for high-mileage runners.

Yeah - You’re probably right on that count.

Welcome to 2010. Bad ones are $5 grand more than they were 5 years ago. Nice ones are $10 grand more.

A real shame though, because I’ve always wanted one

Here’s one in Salt Lake that has a Brodie knob. I’ve only ever seen those on old trucks.

Even still, I doubt you could get one for less than 30. When I bought mine 3 months ago, I saw salvaged cars asking 25 ish
